Hyperbaric oxygen therapy

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy has been approved by Medicare to treat patients with many conditions including diabetic foot ulcers, tissue and bone issues from radiation treatment, non-healing infections, compromised skin grafts and skin flaps, and some types of restriction in blood circulation to issue.

This therapy might be prescribed by a variety of medical professionals including primary care physicians; general, vascular, orthopedic, oral maxillofacial and plastic surgeons; podiatrists, radiation oncologists, dentists, endocrinologists, emergency medicine specialists, gynecologists, infectious disease specialists, neurologists and urologists.

Specialized Training

Wound Therapists at Adirondack Health include physicians, nurses and technicians who are trained in the latest therapeutic methods in wound management. The center's clinical staff has received advanced training at the National Healing Institute at The Ohio State University.
