SARANAC LAKE – On Thanksgiving morning, place the bird in the oven and then head to the Olympic Oval for the 7th Annual 5K Turkey Trot Walk and Run. Proceeds from the race benefit local food pantries and Adirondack Health’s Fit for Life program.
This healthy, family-friendly Thanksgiving kick-off begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Lake Placid Olympic Oval. The flat 5K course takes runners and walkers around Mirror Lake before returning to the Oval for the finish. First, second and third place prizes will be given to the top male and female finishers. Trotters who finish ahead of the mystery Turkey runner are eligible for additional prizes.
Early registration by Nov. 22 is $25 per person or $75 for a group of four. Runners can also register until 8 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day for $30 per person, $100 for a group of four. Kids 12 and under race free! Bring three non-perishable food items to donate and have $5 taken off your entry fee.
Race packets can be picked up on Nov. 25 at the Olympic Oval from 4 – 6 p.m. or on the morning of the race. Click here to register online and be guaranteed a t-shirt.
