SARANAC LAKE – Former residents of Uihlein Living Center in Lake Placid give the facility high grades, according to a recent survey conducted by an independent, outside agency.
According to a recent survey of residents admitted to the nursing home, 100 percent rated their willingness to recommend Uihlein Living Center to others as “excellent.” These results come from Uihlein’s recent satisfaction survey conducted by My InnerView, a third-party independent research company providing skilled nursing, assisted living and senior housing facilities with tools to measure, benchmark and improve performance. The report period was from October 2015 to December 2015.
“Our highly trained caregivers are committed to providing quality care to residents,” said Marc J. Walker, Chief Senior Services Officer for Adirondack Health. “This feedback allows us to identify our strengths and opportunities so that we can provide a safe, positive and caring environment for our residents.”
The surveys are given to residents who are being discharged to their home following treatment and care for short term rehabilitation. Surveys are returned directly to My InnerView for processing. The results also indicated that all of the residents surveyed rate the Rehabilitation Department with a 100 percent overall satisfaction score.
“By listening to the voice of the customer, Uihlein Living Center has invaluable data to help improve and deliver a higher quality of care to their residents,” said Neil Gulsvig, My InnerView Chief Executive Officer. “Uihlein Living Center’s survey results serve as a strong testimony of the good work they are doing. Certainly there is always room for improvement, but satisfaction is high and at the end of the day, the quality of care a resident receives is what matters.”
The skilled caregivers at Uihlein Living Center provide quality healthcare to residents, including those needing short term rehabilitation for wound care, intravenous therapy care, medication management, chronic disease management, and joint replacement. In addition, there are services for individuals in need of long term care and dementia care, which features a specialized day program that has reduced boredom, agitation, and anxiety for residents. The nursing home has been part of the Lake Placid community since 1967 and is located at 185 Old Military Road in Lake Placid.
