Free Community Health Forum to include music, humor and fun
Adirondack Health’s Community Health Forum will focus this year on women’s health and include music, humor and fun.
This year’s event, Laugh & Learn, will be held at 5:30 pm. Wednesday, Oct. 24, at the Harrietstown Town Hall at 39 Main St. in Saranac Lake.
“For the second year in a row, we’re pleased to offer free admission to the Community Health Forum,” said lead event organizer Aurora Wheeler. “This is an incredibly fun event every year, and we look forward to getting together with the community to learn and enjoy the night.”
Starting at 5:30 p.m., attendees will be able to learn about various women’s health topics from yoga to mammography, participate in fun activities, and indulge in light refreshments.
At 6:30 p.m., organizers are very excited to present a performance by the Adirondack Lawn Chair Ladies. After that, a team of Adirondack Health physicians will discuss women’s health topics. Drs. Emily Szczech, Eve Burns, Waguih Kirollos and Anthony Tramontano will have a panel discussion then take questions from the audience.
Jana Stanfield will give the keynote presentation. Stanfield speaks and performs songs with uplifting messages, with a healthy dose of humor and fun. Her music has been played on 20/20, Entertainment Tonight, Oprah, the movie “8 Seconds” and radio stations across the country. Her compositions are sung by Reba McEntire, Andy Williams and others, and Jana has shared stages with fellow performers ranging from Kenny Loggins to The Dixie Chicks. For the past 15 years, Jana has traveled all over the United States, performing her signature keynote concerts at conferences, corporate events, and more.
Adirondack Health would like to thank the generous sponsors for the event: Pepsi, NBT Bank, Fidelis Care and the Adirondack Health Foundation.
