Diabetes Self-Management Education Program begins May 13
SARANAC LAKE – Get the answers you need to manage your diabetes from Adirondack Health’s six-week comprehensive Diabetes Self-Management Education Program.
Starting May 13, classes are every Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Redfield Board Room at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake. Come learn what foods are best and those to avoid; how much and what type of activity is good for you; safe and effective use of medications, and more to manage your diabetes, reduce the risks of complications and help you enjoy life. In addition to people living with diabetes, a spouse, partner or support person is welcome to attend.
Taught by an expert team of healthcare professionals from variety of backgrounds, each session provides the latest information along with the tools and support needed to manage diabetes.
People who have participated in the program are pleased with the results. One participant noted, “I have found this entire program to be informative, helpful, and above all, motivational.” While another remarked, “I am glad this program was available. I learned a lot of new information and was refreshed on things I had forgotten.”
