Adirondack Health Welcomes New Administrator to Mercy Living Center
SARANAC LAKE – Adirondack Health is pleased to announce that Heidi Schempp has accepted the position of Administrator at Mercy Living Center in Tupper Lake.
Schempp comes to Adirondack Health following 16 years at Inter-Lakes Health in Ticonderoga, NY. Inter-Lakes Health is comprised of a critical access hospital, an 84-bed skilled nursing facility and an adult home. During her time there, she served as the Director of Social Services, Assistant Administrator for the nursing home, and the Adult Home Administrator.
Schempp has a Master of Social Work degree from SUNY Albany School of Social Welfare. In May she passed her boards for Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA).
As Administrator, Heidi will be charged with supervising the general operations of the facility. She will also be serving as the Assistant Vice President for Adirondack Health’s long-term care division.
New to Adirondack Health, Schempp was attracted to the progressive culture and what she describes as a positive and supportive atmosphere.
“As a new Administrator, I felt like I would be provided with the tools and support to succeed,” said Schempp. “I have found that to be true.”
Schempp is currently taking time to familiarize herself with residents and staff at Mercy Living Center. She is already extremely impressed with the leadership team at Mercy Living Center and said she would like to see Mercy become the preferred option for long-term and rehabilitation care.
A native of the Adirondacks, Heidi was born and raised in the Lake George area. She now lives in Indian Lake with her husband and two daughters, ages six and ten, with whom she likes to spend most of her spare time.
