Adirondack Health welcomes experienced behavioral health professional
SARANAC LAKE – Adirondack Health is pleased to welcome an experienced behavioral health professional who will provide outpatient services for health center patients in Lake Placid and Tupper Lake.
Peter Brengel is a Psychiatric/Mental Health Physician Assistant and has evaluated and treated patients for anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, attention deficit disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder and post-traumatic stress.
Behavioral health treatment involves an active partnership with your care team to provide you with the information and support needed to improve your mental and physical health. A proactive approach through early detection, education and collaboration leads to individualized, patient-centered care.
Peter provides psychiatric evaluation and treatment for patients ages 14 and older. He is accepting referrals from primary care providers or other medical specialties and some self-referrals.
You can schedule appointments on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Lake Placid Health Center, and on Tuesday and Thursday at the Tupper Lake Health Center. For more information, contact the Lake Placid Health Center at (518) 523-1717, or the Tupper Lake Health Center at (518) 359-7000.
Peter is a board certified Physician Assistant, and received his degree from the Chatham University Physician Assistant Program in Pittsburgh, Pa. He has worked as a Physician Assistant in Family Medicine, Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine and most recently Adult and Adolescent Psychiatry.
In his free time, Peter enjoys kayaking, skiing and playing squash.
