Adirondack Health offers second peek at mock Operating Room
SARANAC LAKE – Adirondack Health is offering the community a unique second chance to walk inside a replica of an actual operating room.
On Wednesday, August 10 from 1 to 7 p.m., Adirondack Health is hosting an Open House at the Conference Center at Lake Placid where the public can get a first-hand look at a life-size model of one of six new operating rooms being built at Adirondack Medical Center. Information and images describing Adirondack Health’s Lake Placid Health and Medical Fitness Center’s services and amenities such as the lap pool and fitness equipment will be on display also.
The open house is being held in conjunction with the North Country Business Council. Tours of the mock OR will be provided and children are encouraged to bring their favorite plush toy to a special Teddy Bear Clinic, where kids and medical staff will work together to diagnose and treat beloved stuffed animals.
There will also be live demonstrations of the latest medical equipment, along with Adirondack Health medical professionals to answer questions about the project and services that will be offered. The Teddy Bear Clinic starts at 3:30 p.m., and the Business Mixer starts at 5:30 p.m.
This is a free community event and refreshments will be served, along with a chance to win special door prizes.
The restructuring of the operating department at AMC in Saranac Lake and construction of a Health and Medical Fitness Center in Lake Placid are part of a transformational $35 million capital improvement project that positions Adirondack Health to best serve future healthcare needs of residents and visitors throughout the region.
