Adirondack Health cancer center welcomes new physician
SARANAC LAKE – Adirondack Health is pleased to announce that Dr. Todd Whitman is now providing Oncology care to those who live in and visit the region.
The Vernon Merrill Oncology Center at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake offers a wide scope of services, including oncology and infusion therapy, and treats a full range of diagnosis.
"My partners and I are delighted to have the opportunity to work with the outstanding team at the Vernon Merrill Cancer Center,” said Dr. Whitman, “It is such a privilege to be able to provide state of the art cancer care close to home for North Country residents." Dr. Whitman and his partners, Dr. Jan Duus and Dr. John Griffin are employed by the University of Vermont Health Network – Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital.
Dr. Whitman received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Rochester. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency and a Hematology/Oncology Fellowship through the University of Vermont where he served as Chief Fellow.
Dr. Whitman is Board Certified in Internal Medicine as well as Oncology and Hematology. He started at CVPH in 2009 and then at Alice Hyde Medical Center in 2013. Dr. Whitman will continue to provide services at these facilities in conjunction with his work at AMC.
Outside of work, Dr. Whitman enjoys hiking, downhill skiing, camping, boating and maintaining reef aquariums.
