A better healthcare experience for the youngest patients
During her time as a high school senior in the New Vision program at Adirondack Health, Hanna Potter of Lake Placid gained valuable insight by working directly with healthcare. Not only did the experience motivate her to continue her education in healthcare, she felt inspired to assist the youngest patients in the Emergency Department by providing toys to put them at ease. Thanks to her passion for young people, Hanna raised just under $300 to purchase toys for children who are patients in the ED.
Earlier this summer Hanna, left, delivered those toys to Hannah Hanford, Executive Director of the Adirondack Health Foundation, and Betsy Fuller, an RN in the Adirondack Medical Center ED. This fall, Hanna starts as a freshman in the nursing program at Case Western in Cleveland. She is already looking forward to a possible career as a pediatrician or a pediatric nurse practitioner.
