Turkey trotters turn out in force for good cause
Over 250 participants showed up on Thanksgiving to walk or run in the 7th Annual Adirondack Health Turkey Trot. In addition to a healthy start for the holiday, trotters donated non-perishable food items for local Ecumenical food pantries. In addition to several boxes of food, $900 is being divided among the food pantries in the Tri-Lakes region.
This healthy, family-friendly holiday season kick-off began at the Lake Placid Olympic Oval. The flat 5K course took runners and walkers around Mirror Lake before returning to the Oval for the finish. First-, second- and third-place prizes were given to the top male and female finishers. Trotters who finish ahead of the mystery Turkey runner were eligible for additional prizes.
Thanks to all the walkers and runners who made this year's event a huge success. For the complete race results, click here.
