Planned Giving

The future is in your hands

A bequest in your will or a planned gift from your estate provides an opportunity to leave a legacy of your commitment to the health of our region. Gifts made as part of your estate plan allow Adirondack Health to improve health and save lives far into the future. Unless otherwise specified by the donor, a planned gift will be added to Foundation investments and the interest it earns will be directed to annual programmatic support. In this manner, planned gifts continue to grow and support healthcare in the Adirondacks year after year.

Bequest: A bequest in your will may be unrestricted (to be used where the need is greatest) or donor restricted (given to a particular program or department). Bequests may be funded through a gift of cash, real estate, securities, life insurance or other property. If you intend to specify a purpose for your bequest, we ask that you contact the Foundation office and speak to the executive director to discuss your wishes at 518-897-2348.

Sample language for a bequest: "I hereby give the sum of $________ to the Adirondack Medical Center Foundation d.b.a. Adirondack Health Foundation, P.O. Box 120 Saranac Lake, NY 12983 EIN 16-1528554."

Gifts of Stock: A gift of appreciated stock provides the donor an opportunity to support Adirondack Health while avoiding capital gains tax on the increased value of the stock. Stock gifts may be transacted by having your broker contact:

Life Insurance: A gift of a life insurance policy can be made by naming the Adirondack Medical Center Foundation as the beneficiary of the policy. If you have on-going premium payments, they will qualify for a charitable deduction.

Real Estate: A gift of real estate may relieve your estate of capital gains taxes and the difficulties of selling a property. Proceeds from the sale of the property benefit the Adirondack Medical Center Foundation.

Trusts and Annuities: There are a variety of options in the form of trusts or annuities that may provide significant tax advantages to donors as well as a potential income stream for life. Please contact the Foundation Office to learn more 518-897-2348.

Redfield Legacy Society: We welcome the opportunity to thank you for your anticipated planned gift and invite you to become a member of the Redfield Legacy Society. Please contact the Foundation office at 518-897-2348.
