The Health Information Management department provides timely, secure and responsive access to your personal medical records and is responsible for storage and retrieval of patient health information across the Adirondack Health organization including:

  • Adirondack Medical Center (inpatient, outpatient, Lake Placid and Saranac Lake Emergency Departments, ambulatory surgery)
  • Lake Placid Health Center
  • Saranac Lake Health Center
  • Tupper Lake Health Center
  • Mountain Health Center (Keene)
  • Uihlein Living Center (Lake Placid)
  • Mercy Living Center (Tupper Lake)
  • Adirondack Health Specialty Clinics (Bariatrics, Cardiology, Rheumatology and Wound Care & Hyperbaric Treatment)

The department staff is composed of Coders, Transcriptionists and Clerks whose primary functions are to ensure that your health information is complete, accurate and is kept confidential. Health Information Management is organized into specific functions, which include: Release of Information, Record Processing, Coding, Dictation and Transcription, Privacy Concerns (HIPAA - Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act), and Tumor Registry.
