New Trustees join Adirondack Health, Adirondack Health Foundation boards
SARANAC LAKE – Two new members have joined the Adirondack Health Board of Trustees, and one new member has been elected to the Adirondack Health Foundation Board of Trustees. Craig Sheldon and Christopher Ericson will serve on the Adirondack Health board, and Edward Bickford will serve on the Foundation board.
“2017 will be an exciting year for Adirondack Health, especially as our capital projects kick into high gear, and we’re extremely fortunate to have these new board members step forward in service to their community,” said Adirondack Health President and CEO Sylvia Getman. “Craig, Chris and Ed all have a wealth of experience that will prove incredibly valuable to Adirondack Health.”
Christopher Ericson has owned and operated the Lake Placid Pub & Brewery since he founded the company in 1996, at the age of 24. He is also the owner and brewmaster of the Lake Placid Craft Brewing Company, which distributes the Brewery’s award-winning beers, and owner of Cake Placid, a local bakery. In June, he opened a new brewpub in Lake Placid, Big Slide Brewery & Public House.
Ericson also sits on the Executive Committee of the New York State Craft Brewers Association Board of Directors; the Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism Board of Directors, where he previously served two years as Chairman; and the Education and Finance Councils for St. Agnes Primary School in Lake Placid. He was the Chairman of the Branding Project for Lake Placid, a three-year endeavor which rebranded and updated marketing for the village, and prior to moving to Lake Placid, he was a Charter Officer in the Vermont Brewers Association and one of the founders of the Vermont Brewers Festival.
Craig Sheldon is a certified public accountant and chartered global management accountant. A resident of Lake Placid and New Jersey, Sheldon is a financial executive with substantial and diversified experience involving a variety of companies in the public, private and non-profit sectors. He has a 20-year career with a highly successful medical device company, Cantel Medical Corp., which manufactures and distributes medical devices and other healthcare products focusing on endoscopy, water filtration, dialysis and dental disposables.
Sheldon sits on the Accounting Advisory Board of Syracuse University’s Whitman School of Business and was a finalist for the New Jersey Technology Counsel’s CFO of the Year. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New Jersey Certified Public Accountants and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
In addition to Ericson and Sheldon, the Adirondack Health Board of Trustees is comprised of Jeannie Cross, Chair; F. Hoffman, CPA; Glenn Keet; Beth Lawyer; Rebecca Leahy; Richard Moccia, M.D.; Patricia Monroe, M.D.; and Randy Quayle.
While the Adirondack Health Board of Trustees governs the activities of the hospitals, nursing home, and other facilities under the Adirondack Health umbrella, the Adirondack Health Foundation board ensures quality healthcare for the heart of the Adirondacks by raising, investing and distributing funds in support of the Adirondack Health mission.
Edward Bickford rejoins the Adirondack Health Foundation Board of Trustees, having previously served from 2009 to 2012. A summer resident on Upper Saranac Lake, Bickford spends the rest of his year in Massachusetts. Now retired, he has more than 25 years of experience in the investment management business in various sales and client services roles, focusing on the large institutional marketplace (pension plans, endowments and foundations), mainly with MassMutual Financial Group. Bickford serves on the Finance Committees of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and Dedham Country and Polo Club in Dedham, MA, and as a Class Agent for Westminster School. He is a former trustee of Jordan Hospital in Plymouth, Massachusetts, and a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.
