Masking still required for all healthcare settings in New York state

March 3, 2022

While the mask mandate has ended for most indoor settings in New York state, masking is still required in healthcare facilities, including all Adirondack Health campuses.

On Sunday, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced face coverings would no longer be required in schools, as of Wednesday, March 2.

However, masking is still required in the following settings in New York state:

  • Healthcare settings like hospitals and doctors’ offices
  • Nursing homes
  • Correctional facilities
  • Public transportation (taxis, buses, etc.)

Private establishments such as restaurants and stores can also still require patrons and workers to wear a mask.

Adirondack Health thanks the community for its cooperation with our health screeners, who help keep our facilities safe for our patients and employees.
